Foreign Reader Says is a blog that belongs to a Russian fan of the English language and books written in it in different times and in different countries. Therefore, the blog is dedicated to reviewing books written in English. The name says it all actually.

The fan’s name is Irina Ponomareva. Hello, reader. Pleased to meet you. In case you are wondering, reading books in English was previously one of my favourite ways of learning the language, but later turned into an independent hobby. And hobbies, as we know, in the 21st century tend to materialise online. So does mine.

The idea of creating a blog dedicated to book reviews came to me spontaneously, like most of my ideas. The realisation took a bit longer than usual though, due to certain circumstances in my life. Still, here we are – my blog and I – finally ready to meet our readers. I’m planning on reviewing a lot more books, mainly detective stories, though I like many other genres also. The number of books I keep in my bookcase should keep me happy and my blog thriving for several years – and as my friends keep sending me an occasional parcel with four or five volumes in each and I also have a lot more books in the electronical form (on CDs), this project won’t wither due to lack of material.

I just hope my own laziness doesn’t stand in the way. And that’s what I’d like to ask you – my readers – to help me with by pushing me gently to write more. Hope you like my reviews.
